Busy days

Woah, I finally have some time to check my pages, resume contact with my friends and just relax after 11 days of intense work. I've been busy doing facepainting in the streets all day long during the Carnival of Venice for 10 days (the longest I last was 15 hours in a row) then yesterday night I did facepainting at the last carnival party in a lgbt club here in my city. I have other face and bodypainting works waiting for me in the upcoming days, so I'll just have a little break and then I'll go back at work, drawing sketches, buying new material and making plans. At least all this work saves me from thinking I'm alone on St.Valentine's day and from depression...
 I wish people remind of face and bodypainting during the rest of the year too. It's not something suitable for Carnival and Halloween only... If I had the amount of work I had in february in other months too, I could stop looking for a real job and live of this.
 Unfortunately I accidentally deleted some pictures of my best make ups I did in these days. But I printed it and I'm trying to make my scanner work properly to show them to you... Other face painters in Venice made me discover a brand of aquacolors I didn't know: Grimas. I bought some colours yesterday and I found out my new religion. They are the best in quality/price ratio I've tried so far. <3<3<3 Totally awesome.

Woah, finalmente ho un po' di tempo per controllare le mie pagine, riprendere i contatti coi miei amici e rilassarmi un po' dopo 11 giorni di lavoro intenso. Sono stata occupata a fare la truccatrice di strada per tutto il giorno durante il Carnevale di Venezia per 10 giorni (il giorno che ho resistito di più ho lavorato 15 ore di fila) poi ieri notte ho fatto la truccatrice per un'ultima festa di carnevale in un locale lgbt qui nella mia città. Ho altri lavori come truccatrice e bodypainter in programma nei prossimi giorni, così farò solo una breve pausa e poi tornerò a fare schizzi, comprare nuovo materiale e pianificare tutto. Perlomeno tutto questo da fare mi salva dal pensare che è San Valentino e sono sola e dalla depressione...
Mi piacerebbe che le persone si ricordassero dell'esistenza del face e bodypainting anche durante il resto dell'anno. Non è qualcosa adatto esclusivamente a Carnevale e Halloween... Se avessi la quantità di lavoro che ho avuto a febbraio anche nel resto dei mesi potrei smettere di cercare un lavoro vero e vivere di questo.
Sfortunatamente ho cancellato per sbaglio alcune foto dei trucchi più belli che ho fatto in questi giorni. Ma le ho stampate e sto cercando di far funzionare decentemente lo scanner per mostrarvele... Gli altri truccatori a Venezia mi hanno fatto scoprire una marca di acquacolor che non conoscevo: la Grimas. Ne ho comprati alcuni colori ieri e ho trovato la mia nuova religione. Sono i migliori in rapporto qualità/prezzo che abbia provato fin'ora. <3<3<3 Assolutamente fantastici.

Let's try again!

Ok, it's been months since I last post something on this blog. Basically because nobody was reading what I wrote and it was very demotivating. But now that my facebook page has grown a little bit (last friday the like button was hit for the 1000th time! *-* Thanks to all who did it! <3) I hope there will be someone out there who will read and show me any sign of life. Reading my past entries I can see I've changed a lot. My look changed and my mind above all. Maybe now I want to be myself and not only a bad copy of someone already existing. That's why I think and I hope from now on reading about me will be a little more interesting. Let's give it another go. Have a nice Sunday!

21st Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig 2012 - Day 3

I didn't forget to write about the rest of my travel to the WGT, I've just been busy with my birthday and some job interviews in the past days. Here we are! On day 3 I decided to experiment my absolutely-not-complete newbie steampunk outfit. Since my camera is huge and I just wanted all my stuff to stay in my pockets without bringing my bag with me (and since I didn't want to bother the others to bring it for me) I left it at the hotel and I can show you only the pictures the others took. We woke up late and we all went back to Sixtina and XtraX for some shopping with the ones who weren't with us the day before, then the group splitted again and I went to Werk II to see Nachtmahr in concert but again I had to listen from outside, this time because it was too hot inside and there was no place to sit (I really needed to sit for a while since I walked on heels all day long) and when I was ready to go back inside, the doors were closed. :( Well at least I succeeded in eating some vegetables that night instead of all the junk food we had to eat all the time! :P After Werk II the group reunited in a club at a Depeche Mode party to celebrate Charlotte's birthday, but we didn't stay long since we wanted to go to Moritzbastei. I didn't realize how big it was at the beginning, because I stopped on the first dancefloor, but when I had to look for the others I explored the whole place and it is really amazing. There's a very similar place in my city but it's not that big and it's not a place for goths...

 We saw two men in amazing, huge steampunk armours and everybody wanted to take pictures to them. They looked very pissed off for this.... I bet being asking for pictures 24hours can be a bit bothering, But if you wear something like that it's because you like to focus attention on yourself, so pose for my picture and shut up! :P At Moritzbastei me and my mates spent hours chitchatting and of course gossipping about people we meet in clubs. Gosh, I think I was evil before I heard them buzzing! O.O I hope they don't say such evil things about me when I'm not with them! 

Half of us including me went back to the hotel at dawn, the others stayed out till late in the morning. Here are my make up and outfit. I like steampunk style very much, but almost all the ladies in steampunk outfits I saw there were a mash between victorian and steampunk, with blouses, long skirts and little hats. I'm more into an outfit that could be comfortable and suitable for a time traveller, with shorts and a tool belt. I'm still working on it and currently I'm waiting for the leather corset I ordered for my birthday.

Dimmu Borgir

Last Sunday night I went to see Dimmu Borgir at New Age club in Roncade. The concert was amazing, they are really good musicians. Especially the drummer. After the gig I waited outside the club to meet them and I took some pictures. Here is me with Shagrath. The transit of Venus

Last night I didn't go to sleep beacuse I was afraid I wouldn't have woken up to see it in time! After writing the previous blog about my 2nd day at WGT I took my bike and went to the river shore to have a better view. Unfortunately the horizon was very cloudy and I couldn't see anything. When finally the sun came out of the clouds I sadly discovered the dark glass I had with me was inefficient, plus Venus looked so little it was really hard to find it without enlarging it with a telescope or bioculars. I luckily found a kind lady who borrowed me her binoculars for a few seconds, so that I could finally see the show! I noticed she didn't have any dark glass, just a piece of an x-ray sheet and it was very effective! Since I misunderstood the event would have finished at 5.55 and this time was very soon I came back home in a hurry and looked for some old x-ray. I found it in a few seconds so I ran at the terrace and used it as a filter for my photocamera, I zoomed at its maximum and I still couldn't see the event (it ended at 6.50 here). My mum and my brother were waking up at that moment to go to work so I told them to run and see it or they wouldn't have seen it anymore in their life. (It will happen again in 2117!) So finally I could take pictures of it. :) My camera is not professional but I'm so satisfied for having my own pictures of Venus transiting in front of the Sun!

21st Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig 2012 - Day 2

Hi cuties! :D Here's my blog about my second day in Leipzig at 21st WGT!

From day 2 we started moving around the city in small groups or even alone. Leipzig was a very important trade center before the fall of the Berlin wall, after wich the number of its inhabitants decreased drastically. That's why it looks so enormous and empty (we never found traffic in the city) and wandering through it you can see a lot of buildings empty or closed since ages. Because of its size it took centuries to go from one place to another by tram and busses, but the public transports were very efficient.

In the morning my group visited the central station were we saw other italian people we usually meet in clubs here (we met some of them the day before too) and I had some super yummy orange duck for lunch. *ç* Then we had a *REAL* italian espresso at Paganini's, the price was double than what we usually pay in Italy but it was the only good coffe I had in Germany. (I had to go back there a few other times in those days, because I'm an espresso addicted and I really couldn't drink that pot of dirty water Germans call coffee XD no offence!) It was so weird to speak to the italian waiters! :) I felt home. After lunch we walked through the streets nearby and I was photographed by many people when I stopped next to a wonderful Rolls Royce parked in front of an antiquary shop (a professional photographer gave me his card but I still can't find my pictures in his site). The same happened at Absintherie Sixtina were a real antique hearse was parked.

I felt such a diva that I almost forgot about the bartender making me pay more than my due and not giving my money back. :/ There was a clothing stand next to the absintherie and another stand selling dildos and other weird things. The man there gave me a little squared plastic pack and I thought it was a condom. So weird. Than we visited the amazing XtraX store but I didn't buy anything (unfortunately I have really expensive and peculiar tastes... I drool for everything is uncommon and very detailed, so I couldn't afford anything I liked there :/)

After all the walking and posing we went back to the hotel to rest for a while before going to Agra for the night. While I was all alone in my room I watched some interesting documentaries and the Simpsons in german on the tv and I laughed at some points even if I couldn't get a single word... I also decided to discover what was in the squared little pack: it was not a condom, it was heart shaped strawberry flavoured jelly candies! So cute! 

Then we spent the night in Agra: since I was very disappointed from the first band we saw for using playback and not even try to make it seem they were live, I left my friends to visit the shops again: I found some super cheap vintage clothes (I asked the seller if the prices had any mistake but he said they were right): there were 2 *AMAZING* tailored skirts I wanted so much but they just didn't fit, so I just bought a beautiful vintage dress I'll show you asap (it's in the washing machine right now). Then I tried to go back to my friends in the concerts area but it was too late and security didn't let me enter, so I just waited and when they reached me we all went back to hotel to put on proper clothing and go to the amazing fetish party at the beautiful Volkspalast (it is absolutely my favourite place among all the ones we visited, Moritzbastei takes the second place). We reached it through the wrong way and we seriously risked our lives because of the giant holes in the ground and no lights to see them! It was sadly forbidden to  take photographs inside the palace but you can see the location on its site, just to know how sumptuous it was! http://www.volkspalast.tv/ We had fun till the morning and then have a huuuuge breakfast at 6.30am at the hotel restaurant before falling dead on our beds. Woah! This post has been way longer than the other, but on the first day we actually didn't this much! 21st Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig 2012 - Day 1

Hello cuties! I carved out some time to write about my super adventure at the 21st edition of the Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig. In this post I'll tell you what happened on the first day. I travelled by train to Verona on Thursday afternoon to reach the house of one of the guys, which was our meeting point. (We all are from different cities in our region: since the goth scene is not so big in Italy, you have to travel a lot to reach the most popular parties and clubs - and still we live in the area where it's more populous - so you meet people from very different and far places.) We ate pizza for dinner and then at 10:22 pm our travel get started! We stopped many times because travelling by night is really hard, plus the owner of the car in which I was didn't want anyone else to drive so he did the whole travel without sleeping.

We arrived at our hotel in Leipzig at 10 am. It was really beautiful, with big windows and a glass elevator. But when I opened the door of my apartment I found a man in his underwear: I shut the door immediately and ran in the guys' apartment! O.O How embrassing! My room mates didn't believe me so they opened the door again!

Even if we all were tired I didn't sleep beacuse I wanted to get ready for Viona's victorian pic-nic starting at 3pm. Unfortunately the others get ready very late and after chainging our ticket at Agra we got lost in Leipzig trying to reach the park where the pic-nic took place. It was 7pm when I gave up because I saw many people around in victorian clothes with empty baskets coming back. I was so sad that I cried... I really wanted to partecipate. Plus, I brought a really big and heavy picnic hamper with food and wine for all my mates, which occupied a lot of space in the car and in the end it was totally useless. :(

Fortunately I was soon cheered up by a bottle of wine and we decided to go back to Agra to have dinner, drink beer, watch the concerts and lose a lot of time wandering through the market. It was so big and full of amazing things to buy (some of them were very expensive like leather corsets worth 500-700 € or metal handmade collars worth 300€). I didn't want to spend all my money on the first day so I just bought a pair of cute goggles with mirrors as lenses.

Wave Gotik Treffen

So, tomorrow I'm leaving to reach Leipzig together with 7 gorgeous people and have fun for 4 days at the WGT! Can't wait to join Viona's picnic the day after tomorrow! *-* I know I'll feel so humble compared to all the magnificent dresses they all will be wearing, but I'll try my best to have an amazing day. That will be the amazing start of my trip to the Wave Gotik Treffen. This year will be my first time there: I'm soooo anxious and excited! I hope I won't forget anything important! As soon as my luggage will be ready I'll hide it in a safe place because I'm afraid my cats will pee on it (they try everytime they realize I'm leaving for a while, it's their goodbye present -.-'). It would be a disaster since I'll bring all the best from my goth wardrobe! O.O Tonight I was looking for batteries in a closet and I found this cool... 

...I don't know exactly what it is (it's not a watch, it's just empty inside), but it will be gorgeous attached on my steampunk belt together with this faux leather pocket I bought for 2.95€ today at H&M. :)

Earthquake

Hello it's rubina here,
I don't know if i should be happy or sad for what happened today... I'll tell you...
Tonight I was waken up at 4am by a earthquake and I was very very very frightened because it was the hardest I've ever felt in my life since I don't live in a earthquake zone. Plus, all my relatives live in earthquake zones so I was very worried for them, and all the neighbours were down in the street. Then I checked the news on the internet and saw that the centre was not in my relatives' areas, so when the tremors stopped and my neighbours went back in their houses I went on with my life even if I wasn't able to fall asleep again.
This morning I took a train with my friend Silvia and my super patient boyfriend and went to Venice for a little photo session with Steve who took amazing pictures of us I'm very looking forward to seeing. I had a really crazy make up you'll see...
Now that I came back home my neighbours are in the street again beacuse they felt another tremor and I discovered that many people died in the central area of the earthquake.
I don't really think we are in danger here, but even if I'm tired as hell I don't think I'll be able to take the nap I wanted to, so lets see what happen, I'm ready to any inconvenience...

Crafting with Rubina presents: Cat Trap

Some days ago I was wodering where did all my cat toys disappear in the last months, then today I stepped with my bare foot on one of my cats glass marbles and and its almost the same pain of walking on a lego brick or into a corner with your little toe. The shock turned on the little light bulb floating on my head together with my PlumbBob, so in 5 minutes I created a cat trap! 

Now my cats' toys won't get lost in the house anymore, I wont' risk my life stepping on them anymore and my cats will have more fun since they love to sneak into little spaces :)

 I'm a genius. ù.ù

Nightwish tomorrow!

Tonight I'll go to bed early so tomorrow I'll be fresh and I will be able to drive 4 hours to Milan, enjoy the concert and drive back home. I should have slept there and then come back in the morning after a few hours of sleep, but some inconveniences occurred. I hope 1liter of Moster (energy drink) will help! I would have so loved to meet the band for a minute with some special ticket but it seems that nothing similar was available... Of course I'll listen to them also all the way long, the last album is such a masterpiece!

I'm a Slytherin!

Yesterday I entered Pottermore and the Sorting Hat put me in Slytherin! Yay! It was exactly what I wanted to be! My second choice would have been Ravenclaw... Ravens are so cute! But I knew I was a Slytherin! A friend of mine was not satisfied of having been sorted in Huffelpuff (be honest, it is the house nobody claims for being in) so she registered again and was sorted in Slytherin... Meh... That's not fair... If I would have been a Huffelpuff I wouldn't have played at all... for a while. In the end I would have accepted it. But I'm a Slytherin and I haven't cheated for it! :3

If I were a HP character I would probably be Snape, because children are scared of me moahahah...

I can hear you!

Today I finally got my hearing aids. Yes, I have a hearing loss, and that's kinda strange for a singer. I've had this partial deafness since I was 6, after a bad otitis not cured properly. This never caused me huge problems, I just don't understand people when they are whispering and barely hear sounds that are low, far or beyond closed doors. I don't feel uncomfortable or ashamed about wearing these tiny pieces of plastic in my ears. They are almost invisible and most important now I can hear like (or even more than) a normal person. I hope this will help me in singing too. Beethoven was deaf too, and he went on with his music anyway so I'm very hopeful for the future.

Hey! I didn't have time to write anything in the past days but now here I am. Did you do anything exciting on Easter holidays? I visited some relatives on Sunday and in the night I went to see the Frozen Autumn in concert. I was really looking forward to that and it was amazing. My boyfriend had to take me home early because I was very drunk! I didn't eat much for days in order not to gain weight during these holidays. :/ That's why I got drunk instantly that night and I did many funny things like trying to get the bartender fired since she was totally incompetent.
